A Festival of Thanksgiving

A Festival of Thanksgiving

In the past 18 months we have all experienced some difficult times – some more than others, but during the days of curfews, lockdowns and restrictions it seemed more than a little unusual to contemplate a Festival of Thanksgiving at All Saints Anglican Church Algarve in Almancil.

But God has been with us every step of the way, guarding and guiding, refining and redirecting our skills and talents and shaping us into the Church that we are today.

A Church that gives Thanks for our caring Ministers and Lay Leaders, our  multiple Small Branch groups, our online Alpha Courses, our programme of All Saints Adventures to help during the Lockdowns, our Virtual House Groups for online Pastoral Care, to name but a few.

All of this possible because of the skills and talents of our Zoom Controllers and Zoom Team who very early on in the Pandemic committed to developing the skills necessary to operate in the world of Social Media and keep the Congregation worshipping together and providing a support platform for so many different online activities.

So now, in the Autumn of 2021 , when we would usually be asking everyone to join us for Harvest Festival we are instead inviting everyone to join us for a Festival of Thanksgiving. To thank our loving Father for all the good and great things he has done for us this past year.

We are of course still mindful that our tradition is to bring to Church food for the needy of the Parish and this will still be part of our Service. So please bring dried and tinned food for ASCA to distribute as part of our Thanksgiving for our Community here In Almancil.

If you are unable to attend on Sunday but would like to donate to our Food Bank for ASCA please contact secretary@allsaintsalgarve.church to arrange for collection.
