Q: What connects a Table Top sale with” The Mice” of All Saints Anglican Church?

A : A heart for the Community of The Algarve

There’s a Restaurant on the road between Messines and Padern in Central Algarve called “Roosters” that serves fantastic Fish & Chips on Fridays in addition to a great all year-round menu, drinks and snacks. It has a large outside terrace to meet up with friends and in the corner of the Terrace is a place called “The Charity Barn” which sells donated items to raise funds for the Bombeiros.

This is a popular spot, it has good off road parking and, post lock down, it now has another reason to stop by – the first Saturday every month there is a grand, covid safe, “Table Top Sale” to raise funds for the Bombeiros  and other community projects.

It’s there that you can find a huge array of home-made items for sale made by “The Mice” of All Saints Anglican Church Algarve plus several friendly faces ready for a chat and a catch up on local events. All Saints Mice are known for their many crafting and home sales and the Table top Sale shows all of their diversity. From baked goods, to hand made décor items, handmade, and recycled greetings cards and hand painted notelets, home made preserves and pickles, aprons, peg bags all with those special finishing touches that come with the care lavished on making something special, individual and unique.

“The Table Top Sale is a great place to meet people, people that because of the lock down we haven’t had the opportunity to see for a long time. “

says Jenny Wills, All Saints Table Top co Ordinator and Chair of the All Saints Council. “We are really happy to be part of this community effort and help raise funds for our marvellous Bombeiros in addition to All Saints Church”

The All Saints Mice meet monthly to plan projects, swap instructions, recipes and techniques and catch up with each other. But there is always room for more Mice – so if you have a craft, a passion or skill you would like to share and through it help raise money for the church and the charities it supports then come and join them. You will be made very welcome.
