Lenten Study - Walking The Way Of The Cross
The Stations of the Cross have formed part of Christian devotions at Easter for many centuries because they have a particularly vivid way of helping us imagine following in the steps of Jesus on his way to the Cross.
This Lent, the Christ The King Branch Groups will meet on Zoom and, over the six weeks before Easter, will be walking along the Via Dolorosa (The Way of Sorrows ) recalling the key moments from the Jesus’ Betrayal in the Garden to the Death of Jesus through scripture readings, music, art, prayer and reflections.
Through Christ’s broken and wounded body, his anger, humiliation and deep hurt, he suffers with us and shows that nothing in our human experience is too terrible for God to bear. We know, too, that Christ bursts out – through death – and our sins are forgiven because of His sacrifice.
Through our Lenten journey, we will meet all sorts of people who encounter Jesus on his journey to the Cross – unbelievers, criminals, helpers, friends, family and enemies – all of whom are changed by what they see.
For this season of Lent, come and join one of the Christ The King Zoom Branch Groups and experience “Walking the Way of The Cross.”
Zoom Branch Groups are held on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday late afternoon/early evening.
