The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27: 1)
Heavenly Father You sent Your son Jesus into our world as a message of hope for everyone. May we, who have this hope in our lives, share Your message of love and hope with those around us. May the light that shone around Jesus during His transfiguration shine out from us as we live each day for You.

Hear our prayer
We pray for the worldwide Christian community. May church leaders and congregations be beacons of light in the communities where they live and worship. In the Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for the Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan.

As many countries prepare for political elections this year, including Portugal, we pray Lord that You will bring forth leaders and politicians who share a faith in You. Leaders who will put the needs of many before the needs of themselves. People with compassion and understanding and a desire to serve the communities they lead.

The Lord is my light and my salvation my strength and my shield. Lord, we pray for our friends and family who are in need of Your healing. Ease the pain of broken bodies; give peace of mind to anxious minds; give a feeling of companionship to the lonely; give comfort to the bereaved and grieving.

We thank you Lord for our church of Christ The King. Thank you for all the blessings we receive each day. Guide us all, Lord as we seek a new vision for our church. Open our hearts and minds and help us to listen to Your guiding and leading.
