Intercessions

15th June 2025

On this Trinity Sunday, we come before you Lord to offer our praise and adoration.
You are God the creator, giving us richly all things to enjoy.
You are Christ, the Saviour of the world, made flesh to set us free.
You are the Spirit of truth and love, willing to dwell in us.
You are holy and blessed.
One God, eternal Trinity, be near to us the people formed in your image, and close to the world your love brings to life, as we bring to you our intercessions.

Holy Trinity we pray for your church throughout the world, asking that by the Holy Spirits power, it will become a beacon of light in the darkness, transforming, reviving and healing the local community.
We give thanks for our church and its people, and gladly acknowledge all the blessings we have been given. We ask you to open our hearts to welcome new people and opportunities to share our faith. We pray for our brothers and sisters in the Gafcon movement and as it continues to increase, pray also for more people to join the global leadership team, and more resources to sustain the growth.

Lord, you have chosen men and women to serve you in the ministry of your church and given them a perfect example in the person of your son; pour out your blessings on your servants today, especially those of this your church of Christ The King. We pray for Bishop Andy, for Rev'd Steve and Veronica, Rev'd Mike and Linda, our Lay Assistants and all who serve in this place. We pray that by word and deed they will proclaim your saving grace so that together we can become more like you Lord Jesus.
In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Mexico. Lord we pray for healing within the church and unity where there is division.

God the creator, we praise you for this wonderful world for you have given us everything we need for life and health. Forgive us that we have not always used these resources in a responsible and caring way; letting greed and power, selfishness and foolishness lead us to bad decisions and carelessness with all you made us custodians over.
We remember all who bear the responsibility of leadership, for heads of state, ambassadors and political advisers. We pray 'Your will be done' for our troubled world, seeking your kingdom to come through the decisions they make. Give them a vision of peace and reconciliation; for you Lord can find a way when men and women are lost. Come Holy Spirit.

Saviour of the world, we pray for peace in the world and a desire across the nations for peace. Peace isn't always free from struggles, so we pray that by the power of the Holy Spirit, all strength and wisdom will be given to those who work tirelessly for peace and reconciliation. We pray for a peace that will restore what is currently broken. Peace that brings justice and fairness for all. We think of Israel and Gaza, Iran, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and so many other places around the world where there is conflict and people are suffering.
We pray for the families and friends of all who died in the Air India crash this week; the waiting for their loved ones to be returned to them adding to the pain and anguish of loss. Spirit of truth and love, where the love of man has failed, we pray your divine compassion will heal.

Holy Trinity, please bring comfort though your Holy Spirit to all who are sad or in need, sick or experiencing troubles. We pray they will be held in your tender care and feel your love and peace despite their circumstances. We take a moment to lift them up to you in a moment of silent prayer.

Holy Trinity, we ask you to go before us into the coming week. Help us to be gentle and kind with others and with ourselves. Show us how to be considerate and respectful in all circumstances and forgive us when we fail. Encourage us never to give up doing what is right in your sight, even when the way forward is tough.

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
