Intercessions

In faith let us pray.
I ask your prayers for the church:
Holy God, may the worship of your church throughout the world be attentive and expectant, ready to on fire again and again with the outrageous acts of loving without expectations without limits and without praise.
We pray for our outreach in spreading the good news here on the Algarve. We ask your blessing and guidance on all in leadership in this our church of Christ The King and especially for those who are active in planning new alpha courses.
In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer we pray for the Church of England.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
I ask your prayers for the world:
Holy God, in these turbulent times of unrest, wars, and climate disasters, may all that encourages people in goodness, honesty and compassion be blessed and grow.
May all that encourages self-seeking and cruelty, prejudice and deceit wither and be exposed.
May we learn from one another’s cultures and respect one another’s differences.

Hear our prayer
I ask your prayers for our homes and community:
Holy God, we thank you for the joy of human love, and for those among whom we live and work. We pray particularly for loved ones who worry us with their health, or circumstances, or life direction.
We pray for those among our friends and families who do not know you, or whose faith has been shaken.

Hear our prayer
I ask your prayers for the sick:
Holy God, we pray for all those whose backgrounds make belief in a loving god laughable or terrifying. We pray for all those who suffer mental or emotional anguish and those who despair, another day of pain, another day of hunger or fear.
We bring before you all those on our church prayer list and those known only to ourselves

Hear our prayer
I ask your prayers for those who have died:
Holy God, gather into your eternal kingdom all who have come to the end of their earthly life.. We remember all whom we love but can no longer see, and thank you for your love and faithfulness to us.
We especially remember Carol, a well-known member of All Saints Lagoa, who died last week and now joins her husband, John.
We pray for all known to us and those who grieve their loss.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
Holy God, we remember with gratitude all who gave up so much to bring the good news to our countries and pray that we may continue to spread this news until the whole world knows of your truth and love.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
