INTERCESSIONS for 26th MAY 2024
To God the Father, who loved us, and made us in his own image;
To God the Son who loved us and washed away our Sins in his own blood;
To God the Holy Spirit, who spreads the Love of God in our hearts,
we raise our prayers this morning.
Gracious God, fountain of all wisdom, we pray for the Christian Church throughout the world and especially in places where religious faith is suppressed or where Christianity is an unwelcome minority.
We pray for our Bishop Andy Lines and our priest Steve and all who teach and guard the faith in this our church of Christ The King here in the Algarve. May the word of Christ dwell richly in our hearts and bind us together in the bond of love.
In the Anglican cycle of prayer we remember The Church of the Province of Central Africa.

Hear our prayer
Father God we pray for our world which seems to be forever caught up in violence and conflict. Through the media we are witnesses to terrorist violence in many parts of the world. As we continue to pray for peace and goodwill towards all people we also pray for the innocent victims and their families caught up in conflicts which are not of their making.

God the Son we pray for our families and friends and especially at this time when children and young people are near to the end of another academic year. Be with those who have important examinations at school and university. Help us through our Christian lives to create a society where both young and old, gifted and less able feel valued and proud to be a part of our society.

God the Holy Spirit we bring before you those in need in our community and throughout the world, the house bound and those in care homes, hospitals and hospices.we also remember the victims of violence, abuse or cruelty. We give thanks for all those who care for the sick within the family and for all our medical and voluntary services.
We bring before you those on her prayer list and those on our hearts.

Loving God we give thanks for all who have died in the faith of Christ ,trusting in the promise of Life Eternal fulfilled through your son Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray for those who grieve for their loved ones.

Hear our prayer
Father, Son and Holy Spirit lead us in this coming week in all we do and say. Keep us safely on the path that leads us and others to a greater knowledge of your power and wisdom.
