Intercessions
22nd September 2024
Gathered as the Church of God and members of the Body of Christ,
Let us pray together.
Fill your Church O Lord
with life, energy, spiritual health and vitality. May we grow more like you,
may we exercise your loving, minister with your tenderness, serve with your humility and vision.
We pray for our Bishop Andy and all churches and congregations that make up The Anglican Convocation in Europe, for our own clergy Steve & Mike and all those who serve and worship here at Christ the King. Today we are asked to pray for the Anglican Church of North India.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
Fill your world O Lord, with wonder at creation,
give us Grace to recognise our human responsibility and a desire to reform what is at fault. In these times of terrible troubles and conflict, give us hope in the possibilities of living at Peace and mutual respect for all your people.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
Fill our homes and neighbourhoods, O Lord, with the generosity and trust that allows Space but is always ready to encourage and support. May we cherish our bodies minds and spirits as temples containing your spirit, living our lives as you have commanded.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
We pray for all those who are ill at home or in hospital, for all those in emergency or casualty, for those who have just discovered that they have injuries or illnesses that will change their lives.
We pray for the work of all those who heal and comfort, all those who visit the sick and council the distressed.
Please pray in a moment of silence for,
Those on our prayer list and those near to your hearts.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
We pray for the dying and those who love them.
We pray for those who have completed this life and have made the journey through death.
We pray for the work of those who comfort the bereaved.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
Fill our hearts O Lord with thankfulness and praise as we recall your faithfulness as we live in your love always.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
