O Lord we come before you to bring You the glory for all your works. You are great and worthy of our praise and we offer you our praise and worship giving you thanks for the beauty of the world around us, for food on our tables, for the love and friendship we share with our brothers and sisters. On World Mission Sunday, and into the future, we want to proclaim to all who don’t know you yet that “The Lord reigns’.
Lord, we come to intercede for the needs of the world, the Church, our families and friends asking you to hear our prayers and answer them according to Your will.
Lord, we pray for all the people in war torn countries around the world constantly in our news, for all your children who are persecuted and subjects of violence wherever they are. Give courage and the right words to those who know you to give support and share their faith. Give wisdom to world leaders that they might consider the needs of ordinary people in their countries and not be distracted by greed, power and personal ambition.

On Mission Sunday, Lord, we pray that through the power of your Holy Spirit you will give Your church the power, ideas and leading to proclaim your name in their local communities. Help Christians everywhere to be aware of and to listen to your leading.
In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer we ask your blessing on our brothers and sisters in the Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil. We ask you to bless their mission across the vast expanse of Brasil and to other countries where their people have gone to plant churches. We remember in our prayers at this time Rev Rodrigo Cavalcanti and his family, who came from Brasil to plant a church in Braga, and all the people of the Igreja Anglicana Tenda.
We pray for the mission of our church of Christ The King. Lead us in the way you want us to go to build your kingdom in this place.

Lord, our church family is spread far and wide across the Algarve. We ask you to give us opportunities and ideas for ways in which we can share our faith in the communities in which we live. Help us to be good witnesses by the way we live our lives and give us the right words to tell others about the amazing difference that knowing you brings to our lives even when times are difficult.

Father of all, we lift before you today all those on our prayer list, and others known personally to us, who need your healing touch in the circumstances they are in. We ask you to wrap your loving arms around them and bring healing and comfort according to Your will. In a moment of silence, we lift to you anyone on our heart today.

Lord, we pray for all who have died this week, some known to us and some we have only heard about on the news, some who have died alone, some suddenly in accidents or difficult situations but all known individually to You. Bless them with your peace and give comfort to everyone who mourns their passing.

Almighty God, through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, you revealed the way of eternal life to every race and nation. Pour out this gift anew, that by the preaching of the Gospel your salvation may reach to the ends of the earth. Enable all Christian people to spread the Good News and help us to be part of this in our small corner of the world.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
