Everlasting God, thank you for welcoming us into your house in love, and we ask you to hear our prayers for your church, the world and for all in need.
We thank you for this new day a day set aside to spend in your presence; a day to be among our church family, to be with friends and loved ones. We give thanks for the fellowship we have together here in Christ The King. Fill us afresh with the Holy Spirit who enables us to love one another as you love us; to minister to each other’s needs, and the needs of the community we serve. Bless our minister Rev Steve and his family, our lay leadership, and all who serve you faithfully each Sunday in this place.
Lord, we pray today for your Church in all its wonderful diversity around the world. We ask you to strengthen and inspire all Christians to witness the joy of the Gospel and share Christ's hope and healing. Where our brothers and sisters are in a minority, let them find strength in knowing you are with them; where they are persecuted let them find courage to continue in faithful service, knowing that you will never leave them; where they are young in the faith let your Holy Spirit build them up in the knowledge of your love.

Lord God of every land and nation, we pray for our troubled world, its peoples and their leaders. We pray Father God you might grant them the wisdom to make just decisions that lead to peace, and the compassion to take practical action for those in most need, promoting justice and the common good. We pray for all parts of the world suffering from conflict and violence. Lord God, turn hearts towards peace, and guide world leaders to work with compassion, taking practical action for justice and reconciliation. Bless the peacemakers and make them fruitful in their endeavours. We bring before you this country of Portugal, its government, our President and Prime Minister; asking you to grant them wisdom, justice and compassion as they lead its people.

Lord, we bring you our thanks and praise for the beauty of creation, and we pray that you would open our eyes to see all the beauty around us as we worship today. As the seasons change, help us to appreciate your greatness in giving us the different seasons. Help us to safeguard your world in all its splendour yet fragility, so that our children and future generations will benefit and enjoy the natural world you made.

God of glory we lift up the Viva Worship and thank you for blessing it. We pray all who hear the Word through music, prayer and preaching, will be receptive to the good news about you. We lift up our branch groups and Bible Studies here and in Tavira, asking you to bless those who lead and minister. May they all Lord be places where people are valued, loved, and nurtured in faith.

Loving Father, we pray for the sick, bereaved and lonely to feel your comfort and presence. We pray for those experiencing hardship, anxiety or difficult decisions. We pray for those suffering in body, mind or spirit. Comfort and sustain those who are in need of your grace at this time as we share a moment of silent prayer together.
We pray for those whose hearts have been saddened by the death of someone close and dear to them. Give to them the strong comfort which no one else can give and let them know the comforting power of your loving arms around them.

Gracious God, we thank you for your presence here with us this morning and we ask that, as we continue to learn more of you and study your word this week, you will guide us by the power of your Holy Spirit in all things. Anchor our thoughts and minds in your great power and love and send us into each new day with your peace in our hearts and the sure confidence of your Fatherly care. May we continue to rest in your goodness and follow where you lead.
Merciful Father,
