Intercessions
27th July 2025
Let us be still and feel the presence of the Lord, let us listen to what he is saying to us, let us look for the signs that he is with us.
With these prayers we offer you our thanks and praise for the needs of the Church, the world and its people and for hearing us when we pray. Almighty God, our heavenly Father, you promised through your Son, Jesus Christ, to hear us when we pray in faith.
O Mighty One, who reigns over all the world, we give you our thanks for the church that is being built here in the Algarve. We give you thanks and praise for the Rev. Steve Chisholm, who is opening up the book of Revelation to us. Thank you for giving him the words and the insight to lead us in a study of a book that is often overlooked, forgotten about, or dismissed. We open our ears to hear the message that Revelation has for us.
With joyful hearts we give thanks for Viva Worship, we ask your blessings on those that work tirelessly to bring your word to a wider public and to send your Holy Spirit to guide all who attend.
We pray for the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea. We know not their needs but you, Lord, do.

As we look to the world it can be difficult to see the beauty and goodness that exists. The glory and beauty of your creation is without words, every hour or minute we only need to look, and we will see your hand at work. It is easier to see the evil that is being perpetrated throughout the world. Truth has no value and righteousness is lost. We pray for a return to the righteous path, honesty in politics, peace instead of wars and we ask for help to conquer evil with love.

Father God, here in the Algarve we can still see and feel a sense of community. We give you praise for all who work to build up a stronger, safer community for all to live in. We pray for the guidance of all parents as they raise their children. May we offer a helping hand to those that are in need and not look away from those that suffer. We pray for the firefighters, please keep them safe and give them the equipment they need to work more efficiently.

As the temperature continues to stay high, we pray for all those having to work in the heat, protect them from dehydration and heatstroke. We pray for all those who are suffering from physical, mental, emotional or spiritual ailments. Let the doctors, nurses and medical practitioners be led by the Spirit, let them heal with modern medicine and the help of God, for you God are the great healer.

For those that are grieving, help them to remember the love and the laughter, the smiles and the embraces. We pray for all those that have gone on to the Father’s house, trusting in the words of your son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, in the forgiveness of sins and a life everlasting.
