Intercessions
2nd July 2023
Father to whom all hearts are open, all desirers known - and from whom no secrets are hidden. You see us as we truly are - as we ourselves cannot see us. We lie about who we are even unto ourselves. We deny the darkest parts of our hearts and the most shining parts of our spirit. But you dear father see all. You see us when we are dark. When we lie or cheat when we condemn, or scorn and you forgive us our weaknesses. You see us when we are bright. When we help or heal when we inspire or sacrifice, and you are joyful.

Leadership comes in many forms from the distant bishops and archbishops. Through the ministry team and worship leaders to those who lead bible studies and fellowship groups. We ask your blessings on them all. Each giving of themselves to enrich others. We pray that in the giving they too will be enriched.

Around the world people come together to worship you. Some in massive groups of many hundreds if not thousands. Others come in smaller groups of tens and twenties and fifties. And some meet in twos and threes in secret for fear of persecution. However, we come together we are promised you are with us. We pray your blessings on any group who meet in your name. We name this week in our turn Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil.

Father, you give us the waters of life so that we may never thirst. Our spirits are immortal, but our bodies are but mortal machines. As good as we have become at maintaining your great creations we will always fail. We ask your healing hand upon all who are suffering breakdowns of their bodies.
We ask also for your help for those who daily fight their own mind. For those desires and impulses are a danger to themselves or others. Give them strength to endure and guidance to find the sympathetic ear or caring heart that will help them heal.

Father, we give thanks for Reverend Mike even as he takes on less and less duties. He has helped us become the church you would want us to be. We pray that the new pastor we have found will be able to join us and guide us on to greater kingdom building to your glory.

We will carry your word with us always, giving it to all who will listen. Some you will ask to carry your word in to the darkest of places and we will go without fear for you are with us always. In the viper’s den – in the darkest shadow – in the heart of the storm we will hear your whisper.
My child, I am here, I will never leave you.
Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
