Intercessions
16th November 2025
As we come together today with our hearts open to give thanks and praise to the Lord. We offer you our prayers for the needs of the Church, the world and its people.
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, you promised through your son, Jesus Christ, to hear us when we pray in faith.
God, you are with us, and we are your church. We give you thanks for all that Christ the King Church brings to our lives and for its impact on the local community here in Almancil and further away. We ask for guidance and insight. Show us the way forward, speak to us and we will listen, show us and we will see, command us and we will act. We are here to do your bidding.
We pray for the Episcopal Anglican Province of Alexandria, though we know not their needs, you, Lord do.

God, who reigns above all of us. We give you praise and thanksgiving for the wonderful world you have created for us. We ask your forgiveness for not doing everything we possibly can to make this world a better place for all to live in. Nation rises against nation, there are extreme weather conditions that are causing havoc in the world, many are hungry, frightened and without hope. Lord, help us to find new ways to ease the suffering in the world.
Lord in Your mercy

God, you reign in us, we rejoice in the power you give us, the power to make a difference. Speak to us now, what is our calling? Where will you send us? May we be the hands that help the poor, the words that bring hope to the downtrodden, the comfort to the sick and the love to those who feel unloved. Teach us to be more like Jesus.
Lord in Your mercy

God, who is always for us, not against us. For those ailing either from physical illness, mental health or spiritual need we ask for your healing. Send the right people at the right time to help them. Let those that are ailing accept the advice and expertise of others, make services available where needed and the power that is in us to believe that healing is possible.
Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer
God, you surround us all our lives and he surrounds those that are near to death. We give you thanks for the lives lived, and we take comfort in the knowledge that death is but a new adventure for all who believe in you. Surround those that are left behind, give them strength in this hour of their grief.

At the passing of Jane Goodall, we pray that her legacy continues. May the Roots and Shoots global youth programme continue to grow and develop. May more people follow her example of courage and conviction to raise awareness of the threats to wildlife, to promote conservation and for a better relationship between people, animals and the natural world.
Lord in Your mercy

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
