Intercessions

24th August 2025

As we enter into prayer, open us up to hear your voice, to feel your presence, to listen to your commands and to obey with grateful hearts. With these prayers we offer you our thanks and praise for the needs of the Church, the world and its people.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, you promised through your son, Jesus Christ, to hear us when we pray in faith.

We give you thanks for the outpouring of your Holy Spirit on our church, for the discernment and leadership of our Reverends Steve and Mike. For the oversight of Bishop Andy Lines.
Today we pray especially for The ACE Virtual Congregation and may Bishop Ian Ferguson see the outpouring of the Spirit on those attending. In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer we pray for the Church of the Province of South East Asia.

We pray for a world that needs more righteous leaders, leaders who follow God’s commands to love first him and then to love one another. Let each and every one of us be an example of God’s love in the world. Give strength and assurance to those that stand up to the law of man and demand an end to genocide, war, poverty and suffering of those less fortunate. We pray for a deliverance from the evil that walks this earth.

We give you thanks as communities come together to fight against the injustices, both at home and abroad in the wider world. Help us to turn away from the self-centredness and greediness of these modern times. Let us remember that we are commanded to love without prejudice. Let the children being raised today, grow in health and in faith. Help us to teach them good moral values, give them a foundation to be stable, kind, empathic and of good heart.

We give our thanks for the accessibility we have to medical assistance. May we rejoice in the abundance of hospitals and medical staff that we have access to. We give you thanks for all those on our prayer list who are being treated for various ailments. We pray for all, the newborn baby, struggling to gain weight and release from the hospital, for those receiving cancer treatment, for those dealing with physiotherapy and those in need of mental health counselling. You know their needs Lord, we ask that you watch over, renew and heal them.

For those nearing death, be their strength and comforter. Send your Holy Spirit to sit with them, to talk to them in their hour of need and comfort them.
We pray for all those that we have lost. We give our thanks for their presence in our lives, the guidance and love they shared. We pray that they rest now in your eternal presence.

Lord in Your mercy

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
