Intercessions

3rd November 2024

Let us come in prayer today as we remember all those Saints whose lives have shone with God’s love on earth and  the Souls of those lost to us.
Glorious  God, as we celebrate the lives of those through the ages who have shone with the brightness of your love in the Church, we offer you ourselves and our lives in fresh commitment and awareness of our need for you in this Church of Christ the King and as individual Christians.
We  also ask you to bless the Church of the Province of East Asia.

Powerful God, in these troubled times of destruction & human suffering we pray for Peace.  May your kingdom of love & peace be re-established in war torn countries. We pray for both the influential leaders and those ignored, both the popular & disliked, both the ambitious and the vulnerable. Teach us all your ways and your values.

Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer

Loving God, we bring before you our families and friends, neighbours & colleagues, thanking you for all the loving care & forgiveness, and asking your light to shine in all areas of hurt and misunderstanding.

Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer

Healing God, we bring before you those whose lives are darkened by pain, fear or weariness. Come to our aid and help us to bear what must be carried, take away all resentment & bitterness, replacing it with the abundance of peace.
In a moment of silence let us remember all those on our prayer list and those only known to ourselves.

Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer

Eternal God, we thank you for all the Saints - those recognised by the Church& those known only to a few, and to you.
We praise you for their example and ask that in your mercy all who have died in your love will know your everlasting peace.

Lord in Your mercy
Hear our prayer

Gracious God, you can take us as we are and transform us by your life in us. Clear our lives of all that is not of you, so that we let your goodness shine through the colours of our personalities and gifts you have given us.

Merciful Father,
accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
