Intercessions
4th May 2024
Lord, we are gathered here today as one body, because you chose to call us your friends. We come from all walks of life. We have had our share of good days and bad days. From the world’s point of view, we aren't good enough or worthy enough to call your our friend; but by your grace, we are here and ready to serve you. May the love we experience today in worship restore us, revive us, refresh us. God, use our broken selves as tools of hope and love on this day. Lord, we love you. Thank you for loving us and calling us your friends. It's in your name, we now offer our prayers.
Gracious God, we give you thanks for the resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ. Be a real and living presence in your church throughout the world. This morning pray especially for the Episcopal Anglican church of Brasil. May they be a testimony to the new life of our Lord Jesus, through their works of love and service. We ask you to bless Steve, strengthening him - and us - by your Spirit to move on in faith and hope and give us the courage to see and serve Christ in all whom we meet.

We pray for those who may be wrestling with doubt or fear. May the light of your truth dispel the shadows, bringing reassurance and peace. Strengthen their faith and grant them the courage to walk boldly in your light. May our shared life be a testimony to the transformative power of your grace. God of transformations we pray for our troubled world in all its myriad kinds of need. Where there is conflict give peace and reconciliation; where there is corruption bring cleansing and renewal; where there is oppression send deliverance and relief; where there is despair give hope and encouragement. Protect all men and women of faith and goodwill in the nations of the world, and help them to be an influence for the good of all

We pray for those who feel isolated or lonely, yearning for connection. Wrap them in the warmth of your love and to be a part of the healing ministry of your church. May we actively seek out those in need and extend the hand of friendship. Lord, we pray for those who are facing adversity, illness, or distress. Embrace them with your comforting presence and grant them strength to endure. Use us, your church, as channels of your love, bringing practical help and compassion to those in need.

And now Lord, in the stillness of this place, we bring before you the names and situations that lie heaviest on our hearts.
Lord, as we intercede for these needs, we thank you for the gift of your Son, who draws near us on our life’s journeys and gladdens our hearts through the caring of our friends and neighbours. May we who are his followers be always ready to share his love with those in need.
Lord in Your mercy

for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
