As we enter into the year 2025 may we feel the presence of God enveloping us, the hand of Jesus on our shoulder assuring us and the Holy Spirit dwelling and guiding us. May we step forward proud in our faith and sure in our love of God.
God of all mankind, we bring before you our prayers for this coming year, for peace on earth, a revival of the Church and wisdom for all the earths’ people. We do this through Jesus' name as we pray in faith.

The wise men came from far and wide in search of a King. We give thanks Lord for sending us your Son, so we too can follow him far and wide. We give you thanks Lord that with the help of Christ the King Church, our lead priest Steve Chisholm and the community of this church we have the opportunity to know you, to learn about you and to follow you. We lift up our eyes, we rise up our voices in songs of praise and joy and we open our hearts to you. Today we pray for the Church in Wales and all those that work to translate and promote the Bible in Welsh.

King of justice and righteousness, many Kings, rulers and tyrant leaders have come and gone but your rule lasts forever. We await the time when every knee will bow and all nations will serve you. We pray today for a deliverance from the miseries of a world at war. We pray for the restoration of nature. We know that with God all things are possible.

Protective God, we acknowledge that we are prosperous and that we have need for nothing, all is provided and given to us. We ask that this year you teach us to be more like Jesus, give us a giving heart, let us love all who we encounter as Jesus loves us. Let us build up a community of support, bringing light and comfort to those who are in need.

At this time of year many fall ill, whether from the cold weather, seasonal illnesses, the isolation of a Christmas spent alone or missing loved ones. We give you thanks for good health, may we never take it for granted. We pray for all those on our prayer list and those that only we know about as many do not want others to know of their suffering. We pray for healing of the sick of mind, body and spirit.

We pray for those that mourn, thinking especially of several relatives and friends of our church family who have died this week, and all those that have lost a loved one recently. May the love of God surround them and give them strength and comfort in these difficult times.
